Friend,

Due to the growing spread of coronavirus in California, effective immediately, the Common Sense Party is suspending all field recruitment efforts in our voter registration drive.

Consistent with state and local guidance to limit social interaction, we believe that our decision reduces potential transmission vectors that occur between recruiters and the many voters with whom they interact in the streets each day.

We are pleased that our efforts to date have seen more than 20,000 Californians sign up for a party that will be responsible, open and inclusive. We remain committed to our mission to qualify the Common Sense Party and to reduce partisanship in California’s state and local politics and, while this action may mean a delay in our reaching the 67,000 registrations we need to qualify, at this critical time doing everything possible to reduce the spread of coronavirus is ... Common Sense.

We appreciate the decisive, common sense actions being taken by state and local government leaders to minimize the impact of this disease in California.

We offer our support and best wishes to our public officials, employers, health care providers and every California family as we all work together to overcome this pandemic.

Stay safe,

Debbie Benrey and Tom Campbell
