The leaders of a new political party in California are asking Governor Gavin Newsom to grant them a spot on the ballot, even though they fell far short of registering enough members.
The new, middle-of-the-road party blames the coronavirus pandemic.
California has six qualified political parties: Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Green, American Independent and Peace and Freedom. The Common Sense Party wants to be the 7th.
